ABOUT US

Our Story

Adaptech is a non-profit organization founded by Sancho Syquia in 2020. While interacting with teenagers from orphanages in his tenth-grade school outreach program, Sancho witnessed the disparity in Filipino students' access to technology. The image of 30 kids crowded around a single computer screen struck him; he realized that the world was growing more tech-centered, yet many Filipinos lacked the means to adapt. This realization prompted him to find ways to improve technological access and skills, especially in underserved local communities. From there, he assembled a team of students to form Adaptech.

Adaptech strives to make the future accessible to everyone via two main initiatives: (1) Adapteach and (2) Adaptware. First, Adapteach equips students with the skills needed to thrive in a rapidly digitalizing world by conducting workshops on GSuite, online safety, research, and coding. Second, Adaptware provides computer learning equipment to students who need them most. To promote sustainability and reduce e-waste, Adaptech sources and refurbishes used devices from companies undergoing hardware upgrades rather than purchasing new ones.

Adaptech prides itself on empowering the Filipino youth through technology, one computer at a time. Its core values—transparency, empathy, competence, and hope—are anchored by our mission to provide the necessary technological access, skills, and opportunities for Filipino students to adapt to the fast-paced digitalizing world. Adaptech not only seeks to bridge the gap in access to technology but also seeks to make an impact.
